CONGRATULATIONS!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby! You probably have a million questions, concerns, and fears right now. That is okay. It is normal to feel that way. The most important thing to keep in mind is that a diagnosis of Down syndrome is not as life-changing as the fact that you have a new baby. And in most ways, your baby will be just like other infants. Every baby needs to be fed, held, and most of all, loved.

There will be challenges in raising your child, but there are many, many joys. It is normal to be nervous about what lies ahead, but remember that Down syndrome is a condition your baby has, it is not who your baby is. We share common feelings, and you are not alone. Join us in celebrating each milestone of our children's life. It is a remarkable and joyous journey. Now is a great time to begin learning about Down syndrome. Take a look below to see some great first steps and visit our resources page for more!
